CAIS-Housing Subsidy Program

Through the Culturally Aligned Integrated Support (CAIS) program, Outreach Workers assist families and individuals within marginalized populations who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Our team provide culturally supportive services and monthly rental supplements to eligible First Nations, Inuit, and Métis families and individuals.

With a strong focus on safety, security, and overall wellness, Outreach Workers help maintain stable housing and promote health and well-being. Services include:

  • Tenant advocacy

  • Housing support

  • Retrieval or renewal of identification

  • Social and cultural support within the community

  • Wraparound supports tailored to individual and family needs

We are funded by BC Housing and the Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness, and are proud to offer cultural programming such as regalia making, drumming circles, and more to strengthen cultural identity and community connection.

Referrals to the CAIS program can be made through self-referral or by other community services. Our Outreach Workers provide ongoing support to help individuals and families transition successfully from homelessness or subsidized housing into private market rentals.
