Supporting the community... honoring the strength of the Aboriginal Culture.

Shae Doiron

Title:
Board Member

Shae’s traditional name is QWUANICUM meaning family princess. She was born and raised in Port Alberni and comes from the Tseshaht and Ucluelet First Nations. Shae first became involved with the Friendship Center as a part time receptionist and is now employed with the Tseshaht First Nation. She says that working the front desk really gave her the opportunity to see firsthand what’s offered to the community and the hard work the employees offer. A few short months after leaving the Center, Shae was elected to become a Board Member and feels it’s an honour to be there for the people.  Some of her interests are slow pitch, women’s ball hockey, and recently Shae has taken on a personal achievement and started speaking in schools, youth detention centers, and even here at the Port Alberni Friendship Center regarding the awareness of drugs and alcohol.
