Kelly, who is a member of the Ditidaht Band, has been a very dedicated and loyal advocate of those who have suffered the abuses of the Residential School.  He is very politically active and well respected member of the Nuu-chah-nulth region. He contributes a great deal to his community by attending events, meetings and social activities such as at the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council, cultural dance groups, potlatches, fundraising events to benefit important causes for his people, and more. His many contributions as a volunteer are highly recognized by the Alberni Valley community and beyond as being selfless and important on many levels.
